Rich Text Editing - State of font not consistent

Sometimes when pressing Ctrl-B, Ctrl-U, Ctrl-I the font state will not change.

In all cases, the bold/italic/underline button will not show the proper active state except on the 1st selection. Turns out this is the issue if you use the shortcut or the button.

For example, the 1st time I press Ctrl-B, the Bold button will highlight and I'll get a bold text. The 2nd time I press Ctrl-B, the Bold button will NEVER change to inactive, and the bold will sometimes actually deactivate and sometimes remain bold. More often than not, it doesn't do what I want it to. If I click the Bold button the button is always active and I don't ever know what the state actually is without typing.

Using Firefox 2.0.0.15, 06/23/2008 w/ Contour 2.3.4

I've actually seen this before.  It ended up being a data issue in a couple of instances.  Does this happen with new blank items, or just items with text already in them?

I've opened a case in Salesforce for this issue.  You should get an email shortly.  We'll be able to track our progress better this way.

Sorry to hear you have editor whoas.  vi or vim is always a good alternative
