Hello,
We would like to link C source files to requirements, without modifying the sources. So we tried to add something like
file:///C:/cygwin/Framework/Common/C/OORTX/oxf/RiCCollection.c
as an URL on a Requirement detail form. However, if you clock on it (it is shown as clickable link), nothing happens.
We tried in in Firefox as well as Internet Explorer, and the URL itself is valid:
if you paste it as address, the source opens
if you create a HTML page with the link, it opens.
So appearantly Contour prevents us from opening the file. My questions are:
will you support it?
If not, we must figure out another way to link requirements to files
can you roughly indicate by when?
Thanks!
This is actually a browser security issue. The reason it works in
the url but not as a link is by desgn to protect your computer from
outside access. There is an addon to Firefox that will enable this
capability. (It also describes the circumstance fairly well).
I have not found anything comparable in IE but will keep looking.
Hope this helps.
Thanks, works like a charm. BTW, no need to have it in IE; we are all using Firefox.
Is adding some source or Subversion path the best way to make it traceable, without changing/modifing the file itself or anything (keyword, metatag in its Configuration Management)?
