Feature Request: Filtering & Navigation

The filtering capability is great - well, almost. :0

The left side of the frame shows the different filters, where the right side shows the list of items for that filter. Clicking on an item takes you where you want to do, but there's no way to 'get back' to the exact location in the filter list where you left off. I've been tracing through a filter list to make sure all the item(s) are done, but I have to keep clicking on the filter list in the left, then to the right page, then scroll down, etc.

It would be nice to split the left part of the frame into two sections, similar to the project explorer - on the far left, a list of the filters, the 'middle' with the items, and the right the last selected item. This way you can scan through the items in the filter and see the current item without have to 'go back and find' where you left off.

Re: Feature Request: Filtering & Navigation
Agreed. There is a toggle view feature that didn't make it in the last release - but is scheduled for 1.7 next week that will allow you to view the list / detail view without losing your place.

The team is starting work on a number of usability enhancements that should streamline many processes. As part of this we are looking at consolidating the 2nd column (list of items) with the grid view (table list). While it's nice to click throug the list and view the details on the right, we think the lists will become redunant if there is an easy (and very fast) way to toggle between list and detail view. You would still be able to order the items, drag and drop etc, but from the grid view (right pane).

Let me know what you think.

Re: Feature Request: Filtering & Navigation

Look on the filter list (left hand side) once you click on a filter you should see a "Return to Filter". This will bring you back to the filter where you left off. This will be clearer in the 2.0 and more consistent.
